Welcome
to my world of drumming
Roots
I am Jonas Ledermann, a Swiss rudimental drummer. I began my drumming journey with Drum Corps Lenzburg, where I was guided and inspired by many teachers, including long-time corps leader Roberto Di Martino, whose influence still shapes my style today. My service as a sergeant in the Swiss Military Music under the leadership of Philipp Rütsche and Marc Hobi further broadened my horizons in the same way.
Mission
Today, I am dedicated to nurturing young talent, both at Drum Corps Lenzburg and nationally through youth camps. I enjoy passing on my knowledge and intentionally focus on composing simpler marches and pieces tailored for young drummers. With my background in innovation and business engineering, I enjoy integrating stories and themes into my compositions. I believe this helps drummers of all ages, especially younger ones, connect with the music and fully immerse themselves..
Organizations and global initiatives
Beyond composing and teaching, I am an active member of Drum Corps Lenzburg, the Gassegötter Fasnachts group, and the Society of International Rudimental Drumming (SIRD). Within all these organizations, I contribute to various focus groups, bringing my strengths in innovation, education, creativity, and systems thinking. For SIRD, I am a frequent speaker at symposiums, author of the rudiments description for the Swiss section on Stickipedia, and excited to implement the Academy project, with the goal of spreading the joy of drumming not only in Switzerland but across borders and cultures.
Giving back to the community
From learning in Lenzburg to sharing music internationally, I have grown into a role that combines teaching, composing, and community building, while remaining fully aware that I can only pass on what I was fortunate to receive myself. After leading different initiatives, I know that all projects in drumming are a team effort. It is never a one-person show, and the Swiss drum community truly knows how to inspire: over the years, I have received lessons from many passionate drummers, always giving their time freely, which motivates me to do the same for the next generation. I am deeply grateful to all my friends, mentors, and everyone who has supported me along the way and continues to do so.
Whether you are a drummer, a music organization, or simply curious about my projects, I would love to connect and share the joy of drumming!
